Norwegian Newspapers Thrive with Labrador CMS
Eight local newspapers in Norway successfully transition to Labrador CMS, enhancing their digital presence and capabilities.
Just before Christmas 2023 Polaris media told all their partner newspapers they could no longer provide tech for newspapers that they didn't own. That meant a handful of local newspapers around Norway had to find themselves new partners, and in that process, new content management systems (CMS).
Eight of them chose Labrador. All eight are now live on the platform.
- We are absolutely delighted with the new website we received through Labrador. It has given us many more opportunities to present our issues in a more exciting way, Jarle Håvik in Grenda says.
In addition to Grenda, Vest-Telemark blad, Suldalsposten, Firda Tidend, Os og Fusaposten, Bladet Tysnes, Hordaland Folkeblad and Dagen have been moved from Polaris' systems to Labrador CMS.

Labrador CEO Jan Thoresen is also happy the local newspapers have found their new home.
- Today we announce the successful completion of their migration from legacy Polaris Media systems to a modernized publishing ecosystem powered by Labrador CMS, Thoresen says, and continues.
- All the local newspapers use Roxen print automation, and Mentor Medier AS’s subscription and app solutions (Unite AS). While Dagen uses the new Labrador CMS to Naviga integration for print - all launched on time and on budget. A huge thank you to everyone involved in this effort!
